amazon finds for the farmhouse.

I really love Amazon.

We have had a Prime account for several years and use it for everything from coffee to toilet paper, books to home decor, music to movies.

Some day, I will talk to you about the joys of Amazon's "Subscribe & Save" program and my new-found love for Audible.

Some day, I will talk to you about how amazing the Amazon app is and the fact that I have a dream to sell a children's book I wrote on Amazon someday.

But not today.

Today I'd like to share some of my favorite completely reasonably-priced "farmhouse finds" that I have purchased or are planning to purchase from Amazon...all under $20!

Some of my favorite items that I've purchased for the farmhouse have been simple signs, rustic baskets, or metal accents.

Amazon has a host of items that fit my taste...and my budget.

As you've probably seen in some of my other posts, I love signs and wall-hangings to fill the walls of the farmhouse.

Amazon has a nice selection of high-quality signs.

I love this cutesy little "Home Rules" chalkboard to lean up somewhere on a counter or hang in a little open place beside the bathroom mirror.

It's a great reminder of some of our "family rules" we talk about daily!

It starts with "Always be honest" and ends with "Love one another".

Yes, yes, yes!

This $10.95 Amazing Grace sign is perfectly rustic-y and primitive.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but you can barely see an outline of the sheet music behind the main text.

At 5" x 10", it's the perfect size to round out a farmhouse wall gallery.

What a great reminder of His amazing grace.

I just think this vintage Soap & Water sign is adorable.

In fact, I just bought one for the girls' new bathroom wall.

I also picked up this deer antler jewelry-holder for the girls' new bathroom, too.

I can't believe they are old enough to need a jewelry-holder!

I have tried to be very intentional with the items I bring into the farmhouse, since we moved in last July.

One of the things I try to think about when I purchase items is the functional purpose that they could serve in our home.

These containers are perfect for organizing AND looking adorable.

A nice warm throw is always a good item to have lying over a chair, reading available for snuggling up with a good book. I also love the natural pop of color that this wreath brings.

There are hundreds of thousands of items to choose from and purchase on Amazon.

These are just a few of my favorites.

I would encourage you to think about the purpose of the items you bring into your home before you purchase.

Seek out items that bring joy to your heart and make your home feel peace and calming to you.

Be responsible in your spending and intentional in what you allow into your home.

And enjoy the process!

local artist spotlight: rashall's charming creations

My friend Rashall over at Rashall's Charming Creations is super-talented.

She makes these signs and sells them at vendor fairs.

I kept seeing them on Facebook and meaning to get one from her and never did.

Then we bought the farmhouse.

I had some very specific ideas about what type of art I wanted to put in certain places in the house and what message I wanted to send when people entered our home.

She helped me make my vision a reality through her custom work and I've also purchased some of her premade signs to display!

The song Holy Spirit by Francesca Battistelli just speaks to me.

I knew I wanted to display the lyrics to the chorus of this song in the Gathering Room.
Rashall made it happen!

I have always loved the story of Ruth in the Bible and have admired her for her commitment to her mother-in-law, Naomi.

Ruth's husband passes away and yet she stays with Naomi.

She commits to staying with Naomi instead of going back to her own family no matter what.

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." Ruth 1:16

When I saw this sign on Rashall's Facebook page, I knew I had to have it.

You can see the pictures that I displayed beside the sign in our bedroom in the photo below.

The picture on the bottom is one of our engagement photos. We were young... barely 17 & 18.

Even then, we knew we would share a lifelong commitment to each other.

The top image is one of our maternity photos when I was expecting our last baby girl. At that point, we had been together for over 14 years.

Now, we're grown.
Raising three beautiful girls.
Living in the farmhouse.

Mr. Farmhouse loves to plant beans, bale hay, and feed cows.

I first heard Paul Harvey's "So God Made a Farmer" on a Dodge Commercial during the Super Bowl a few years ago.

It reminded me of my grandpa.
My dad.
Mr. Farmhouse.

So I asked Rashall (again) to create something that would bring these words to mind.

And she did.

I had originally put it in the living room, but I just don't feel like that's where it will end up.

I think I'll display it with some pictures of all my favorite farmers in the hallway.

Or maybe not. We'll see. I'll let you know when I decide!

Finally. This "tribe" sign.

I have so many members of my tribe.

My family.
My girlfriends from high school.
My besties since birth.
My sisters-in-laws.

Church friends. Elementary school friends. Work friends. College friends.

Build a tribe of supporters that can walk through this crazy life with you.

Find your tribe and love them hard.
